I studied photography at Tehran's Azad University and started photojournalism in "Sobh-e Emrouz" (Today Morning) daily in 1999 and continued with another reformist newspaper; "Aftab-e Emrouz" (Today's Sun). Both papers were banned by Iran's judiciary, then I decided to work as a freelance photographer.
My pictures are distributed by ABACA PRESS photo agency. My pictures have appeared in publications like Focus, Paris Match, Stern, View, Le Nouvel Observateur, Le Figaro magazines and Daily Telegraph, La Presse, Liberation, L'Equipe, Il Giornale and other daily papers.
I was a board member of "Iranian Photojournalists Association" since 2000 to 2004. My permanent base is Iran where I live and I can cover the events in the region.
